It's not only the square footage of our shop that's growing these days--our team is too! There are 7 of us who work to make all of this happen so we thought we'd introduce you to our three newest teammates!
Meet Olivia, our shop manager (who also worked with us over the holidays last year):
Hometown: Cleveland, Ohio
What do you do when you're not selling pencils? Find and sell vintage items--and drink a lot of coffee.
Favorite pencil: Mono 100 HB
Favorite memory involving pencils: My dad is an artist and used to looove Ticonderogas--we always had boxes of them around. We would lit at the table as a family and draw all the time.
Opinion on erasers: The bigger, the better. I tend to like plastic more.
Preferred pencil-using activity: Making tons of lists! And journaling.
What's number one on your shop playlist? Love some Yo La Tengo.
What's your dream shop pet? A pug.
Meet Esther, our very talented new sales associate
Hometown: Birmingham, Alabama
What do you do when you're not selling pencils? Aside from pencil-pushing, I illustrate, design patters, power-walk a whole lot & indulge in baked goods as often as I can.
Favorite pencil: Still looking! Once I find a pencil that holds its point like a champ but still gives me that nice quality graphite-y texture when writing, I will let folks know.
Favorite memory involving pencils: I have a very vague but warm memory of sorting through my dad's collection of golf pencil when I was younger.
Opinion on erasers: They are good! Come in all sorts of shapes & colors!...I don't use them very much.
Preferred pencil-using activity: Crosswords, for sure.
What's number one on your shop playlist? I'm in the middle of curating my playlist now, so I can't say yet.
What's your dream shop pet? A crow or a magpie, maybe. I've been on something of a bird kick since following a bird sanctuary's Instagram.
Meet Antonia, our awesome new intern
Hometown: Tenafly, NJ (but I was born in Toronto, Canada)
What do you do when you're not selling pencils? Go to school, do too much homework and shop for washi tape and more office supplies.
Favorite pencil: Craft Design Technology (I love my greens)
Favorite memory involving pencils: Taking wooden pencils to school in my pocket but people started trying to steal them.
Opinion on erasers: Beautiful and necessary (I usually only like the smaller ones because they fit in my pencil case the best), cross-outs are filled with character though.
Preferred pencil-using activity: Sketches and hand-lettering but drawing organic chemistry rings too.
What's number one on your shop playlist? Rouse yourself by JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound
What's your dream shop pet? A quiet cat that likes people.
As always, give us a shout if we can ever help you with anything and be sure to say hi when you're visiting our shop!
