For the past two years, we've been running a bimonthly book club, which we call the Orchard Street Reading Society in our shop. While the shop is closed, we thought we'd share and sell our current book online:
The People of Paper is a genre-bending work by Mexican writer Salvador Plascencia. Originally published by McSweeney's in 2005, this work of magical realism deals with the oppression and migration of a family made of paper, a dangerous addiction to limes and a war against Saturn. It's already beloved by a couple of our members and we're already thinking about all of the paper-related activities we can plan for our next meeting (which will be May 6th).
