Mono KM-KKS - 6B

This pencil is really special and rather hard to find, even in its home country of Japan. It's a Kohitsu Shosha pencil, a type of pencil which is distinctly Japanese. They're made with a thicker than usual graphite core that is also much softer than your average writing pencil. The function is to improve penmanship and especially to practice calligraphy. The size and softness of the core mimic what it's like to write with a brush--except it's all erasable.
Tombow was founded in Japan by Harunosuke Ogawa in 1913. The brand is widely recognized by their dragonfly logo, as Tombow means 'dragonfly' in Japanese.

We measure the characteristics of the pencils we sell against a General's Semi-Hex #2, which is the pencil we consider to be a good quality pencil of true HB/#2 hardness, similar to that of most American #2 pencils. The swatch in this product listing reflects that.
