The Mono eraser was first introduced by Tombow in 1969, taking its name from the company's prized Mono range of pencils. Tombow's erasers have a reputation for being some of the highest quality, hardest working plastic erasers on the market.
As the newest in the fleet of Monos, the Mono Tough is the most durable Mono yet. Not only is the eraser itself made to be strong, the sleeve that it's in features corner cut-outs and an angle across the top, both of which prevent the eraser from breaking off better than a normal straight sleeve typically would.
Steeped in history and fiercely dedicated to innovation, Tombow is one of Japan’s leading writing instrument makers. They got their start in 1913 as a pencil manufacturer and adopted their current brand name, which means “dragonfly” in Japanese, in the 1920s. In addition to pencils, they’ve become recognized for their Mono erasers, which just might be the most recognizable plastic eraser in the world.
