    inferior ocean, superior pencil

Published by Emily on May 27th 2021

Don't let the name of this pencil fool you. I know it's not the right ocean--who would ever willingly choose the west coast over the east coast? But hear me out: despite this pencil's namesake, it's as if it emerged straight out of the Atlantic ocean. It's a great pencil, writes well, nice point retention, and it even has a silver-colored ferrule (let's skirt the silver vs. gold ferrule debate and stick to the ocean one for now). If you're really fussy, try scratching out the name "Pacific" and pencil in "Atlantic" instead. (Note: this trick requires the use of another pencil, preferably one with an east coast vibe.)

A goddess--the only question is which one!

Published by Emily on May 13th 2021

General has decided to be really plain with us here: this pencil is a goddess. Besides writing with this pencil, I like to speculate about exactly which goddess it might. My mind naturally takes me toward Greek Myth. I'd like to think it's Persephone's pencil since Persephone is an all around really cool goddess: goddess of spring and part time queen of the underworld (wish my part time gig was that cool, and I bet you do too). As for the more earthly attributes of this pencil: it's pleasantly round, has excellent point retention, and has some great feedback while writing. Fit for a goddess, god, or human.
