I heard your NYC store is closed - will you reopen?
Yes! We had to close our 100A Forsyth St. location in June due to a serious hazard within our building. We are in the process of moving and will post updates on our social media as soon as we can! In the meantime, our online store is fully operational so you can still get your pencil fix!
Who is behind CW Pencil Enterprise?
CWPE was founded in 2014 by Caroline Weaver, our Chief Pencil Lady and lifelong pencil lover and official pencil historian (seriously, she even wrote a book about it!). She's joined at CWPE by deputy pencil lady and manager Caitlin Elgin, bespoke pencil services expert Alyx Cullen, and illustrator extraordinaire Meredith Miotke.

Do you customize pencils?
Yes! We personalize pencils using a hot foil stamping machine from the 1960s. Read more about custom pencils here or contact email@example.com for inquiries.
How do I sign up for The Pencil Box?
Spots for our new quarterly subscription, The Pencil Box, will open periodically. The best way to be notified about any open spots is to join the waitlist. You can join the waitlist and learn more about the subscription by clicking "Email me when available" here.
What shipping services do you offer?
We offer USPS First Class, Priority and Express. Shipping rates are calculated based on weight (note that anything over one pound cannot ship via First Class) and location.
Do you ship internationally?
We do! We offer USPS First Class International, Priority International and Express International. Shipping is weight-based, so pricing depends on the weight of your order as well as where it is shipping to. Please note that we are not able to track or file claims for First Class International packages, so shipping is at your own risk.
USPS says First Class shipping is 1-3 days. Where's my package?
USPS does indeed say that First Class ships in around three days, but that's often not the case due to things like inclement weather, local post office closures and human error. We unfortunately can't file missing packages claims until a package has been in transit for more than 7 days, so we do ask for patience if a package doesn't arrive within the initial expected 3 days.
Do you accept returns?
All sales are final, though we do occasionally make exceptions. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have a problem with your order.
Do you sell mechanical pencils or pens?
I'm afraid not. It's nothing personal - we just prefer to specialize in wood-cased pencils!
Do you have gift cards?
Yes! Simply email us at email@example.com with the amount you'd like and we will get you started. We can do either digital gift card codes that will be emailed to you upon purchase, or we can mail a physical gift card to you (note that we will add an additional First Class mail charge with tracking provided so you can keep track of the card!).
Can you help me put together a gift for someone?
