Crossword Puzzle Sampler Set

Whether it's the Sunday Times glossy paper, or regular old newsprint, you need just the right pencil for crossword puzzles! These each have graphite that's dark enough to show on newsprint or magazine paper, while not being too dark to smudge, or so firm that they aren't erasable. Bonus: each one has a better-than-average eraser.
Camel HB Pencil - Beautifully minimalist, these pencils have unique ferrule-less erasers that work incredibly well! The unusual eraser lasts longer than a typical pencil eraser tip, and the graphite within is a nicely balanced Japanese HB. This is one of our best-sellers for this particular purpose.
Caran d'Ache Yellow School Pencil - An excellent take on a classic yellow pencil, these #2s have really great point retention that is perfect for writing in small spaces. Made in Switzerland.
Mitsubishi Office Use 9850 HB Pencil - These HBs have a really nice spongy eraser, and contain lovely extra-smooth graphite. They're just a hair darker than an American #2, making them stand out better on paper. Made in Japan.
General's Test Scoring 580 Pencil - Test scoring pencils contain artificial graphite, specially formulated to be extra dark and a bit shiny (originally used with old computers!). They write with an almost inky-quality without being too smudgy. Made in the USA.
Palomino HB Pencil - Just a bit firmer than it's cousin, the Blackwing 602, the Palomino HB is a slightly dark Japanese HB with a great quality plastic eraser tip. The FSC-certified cedar sharpens beautifully, too.
Tombow 2558 B Pencil - The 2558 in a B grade is perfect if you're looking for something that's a little on the dark side, while still keeping its point very well. These pencils are darker than an HB, making them especially great for glossy magazine paper. Made in Vietnam.
Each set includes one of each pencil, packaged in an envelope with an informational insert.
