Hexagonal Penmanship Pencil - 4B
This product is currently sold out.
Technically meant for Kohitsu Shosha, this is a very special pencil. It's made with a particularly thick, soft core that looks and feels like a 4B but is stronger. The purpose of such a pencil is for practicing Chinese calligraphy and also for improving penmanship. Most users love it for its buttery, brush-like quality. It's especially popular with modern calligraphers and hand-letterers but we think it's a fun alternative for general use as well.

We measure the characteristics of the pencils we sell against a General's Semi-Hex #2, which is the pencil we consider to be a good quality pencil of true HB/#2 hardness, similar to that of most American #2 pencils. The swatch in this product listing reflects that.
